Energy Independent Micro-Power Generator

A system capable of producing sufficient energy for low-power electrical devices, removing the need for batteries and mains power supply

Background

Energy security is a major global concern, enforcing the need for efficient and independent power generators. In addition, CO2 emission reduction targets set by the UK government has led to research and development in clean and renewable energy sources. This technology allows products to become more versatile than battery operated counterparts, thus removing the need to monitor and/or replace the battery.

Technology Overview

This invention uses piezoelectric materials to generate clean and renewable energy by converting human motion into electricity. The novel system is capable of generating enough energy to power electrical devices without the need for batteries. This design amplifies the force on the piezoelectric material, generating approximately 10 times more energy than the commercial equivalent. This
